In an inspiring effort to foster collaboration and learning, PaCT recently hosted five NGOs from Our Lady of Perpetual Support (OLPS), Rafiki wa Maendeleo, Community Asset Building and Development Agency (CABDA) from Kenya, and Drop of Water from Ethiopia. These nonprofit organizations, all funded by Blood:Water, successfully visited PaCT for an exchange visit to share knowledge and experiences in the WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) sector.

The visits took place differently in June, July, and September 2024 as each NGO explored different project sites in Uganda to learn about PaCT’s innovative water well construction technologies for rural communities and schools. These technologies are critical for ensuring access to clean, sustainable water in some of the most remote areas.

Key Focus Areas of the Exchange Visit

During the visits, the focus was on key aspects of PaCT’s successful programs:

  • Innovative Water Well Construction: Our advanced techniques for building water wells that cater to both rural communities and schools.
  • Comprehensive WASH Suitability Planning: A holistic approach to water, sanitation, and hygiene that ensures every project is contextually appropriate for the local community.
  • Project Sustainability: Strategies for creating long-lasting impact by ensuring community ownership and maintenance of the water infrastructure.
  • Effective Administrative & Financial Management: Insights into how PaCT ensures transparency, accountability, and effective resource allocation in our programs.
  • Communication Strategies: How we engage with communities and stakeholders, ensuring clear, impactful messaging and partnership development.

The exchange visit was an invaluable opportunity to share ideas, best practices, and innovative solutions for enhancing water access and sanitation in rural and underserved communities. Each partner organization left with renewed inspiration and strategies they can apply within their own projects as well PaCT gained insights as well from their shared programming in WASH.

We extend our gratitude to Blood:Water for facilitating this powerful exchanges and to our partners from Kenya and Ethiopia for their active participation and commitment to learning from one another.

Together, we are building a future with better health, cleaner water, and more sustainable communities across Africa.
