November 2024 marked a significant milestone for PaCT as we officially launched our new WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) project, funded by our incredible partners at Water to Thrive. The excitement in the air was undeniable as key stakeholders from Kakumiro and Mubende districts came together for a highly engaging inception meeting—a crucial step in laying the groundwork for this life-changing initiative.

The session served as a platform to introduce the project’s goals, ensuring that every leader, from district officials to local community representatives, understood their roles and responsibilities in making this initiative a success. Through open discussions, shared insights, and collaborative planning, we set a clear roadmap for delivering sustainable access to clean water and improved sanitation to thousands of people.

Why This Project Matters

For too long, communities in Kakumiro and Mubende have struggled with limited access to safe drinking water, leading to preventable diseases and hardships, especially for women and children who often bear the burden of fetching water from distant sources. This new initiative, powered by Water to Thrive, aims to change that reality by:
✅ Constructing reliable and sustainable clean water sources
✅ Promoting proper sanitation and hygiene practices
✅ Empowering communities through WASH education, WASH Operation and Maintenance and leadership training

A Collaborative Spirit & A Shared Vision

The energy and commitment from the stakeholders were truly inspiring! With government representatives, community leaders, and implementing partners all aligned, the meeting reinforced the power of collaboration in driving real, lasting impact. Discussions were rich with ideas, solutions, and a collective determination to see this project succeed.

Looking Ahead

With the inception meeting successfully concluded, we are now gearing up for the next phases—detailed planning, community mobilization, and ultimately, the groundbreaking work that will bring safe, clean water closer to those who need it most. This is more than just a project; it’s a transformative journey toward healthier, stronger, and more resilient communities.

A huge thank you to Water to Thrive, our dedicated stakeholders, and the passionate communities we serve.
